Treeview Control In Access 97
If you want to use a treeview control in Access 97, what
does it look like ?
Figure 1 : This is the Treeview control for visual
basic 5.
The information shown in figure 1 is
drawn from 2 different datasources. The top of the heirachy is 2
fields from a consolidation query
Products
and Count of rows
The second level is the
detail rows from the original table where the link is on the product
code. A number of fields are displayed here. The display
is not really that great for this sort of table data but used wisely could
be very informative.
If you think that you need
this control, you need to download the Access 97 treeview wizard.
Follow the instructions from this page
to get the download. Without the wizard, this control is hard
to setup. Here are the notes from the Microsoft download
form.
"The WzTreevw.mde file
is a Treeview Control Wizard for Microsoft Access 97. When you insert a
Treeview Control on your form with this wizard installed, the wizard will
guide you through configuring the Treeview Control. The appearance of the
Treeview Control Wizard is similar to that of the Data Outline Control
Wizard in Microsoft Access 7.0. The functionality of the Treeview Control
is similar to that of the Data Outline Control in earlier versions of
Microsoft Access. NOTE: The TreeView Control Wizard requires that you have
the TreeView ActiveX Control, which is included with the Microsoft Office
97 Developer Edition Tools."
You may also
need to download the registration tool from the same Access page.
Before you get to carried away with this tool, you must test the
installation of this tool on your clients databases.
