Next Tip    Tuning Up Your Design Toolbars In Access 2000, 2002, 2003

Doesn't apply to Access 2007

One of the most productive things that you can do to improve your Access development is to add some essential controls to your Toolbars for Form and Report design.

Here is how you add some really useful buttons to your Toolbox toolbar

Step 1 - Select Toolbar In Customize Mode

Step 2 - Select form/report design in the commands Tab.  Drag the Align right/top/left/bottom buttons and drop them on your Toolbox toolbar.

Step 3 - Copy the Duplicate control button onto the toolbox

Step 4  - Your Toolbox should look something like this

Improving Your Report Design Shortcut menu (Right Click)

Step 1 - Select the toolbar customize menu and check the box next to Shortcut menus.

Step 2 - Choose Report - Design View Control

Now copy Font Size from the Form/Report Design menu across to the Design View Control shortcut menu.

Step 3 - Repeat step 2 until your shortcut menu looks as follows

Step 4 - Repeat steps 1-3 for the form design shortcut menu.

Step 5 - Add your own favorite design options to the menu's.
