What Happened to FrontPage
QUESTION:
I've been using Microsoft FrontPage since 1998 to create my web pages and I like
it. I just read that FrontPage is going away after FP 2003, that there won't be
a FrontPage 2007 in the new Office. What am I going to do? - Josh S.
ANSWER:
It's true that Microsoft is discontinuing FrontPage, and I felt the same way
when I first heard the news. The good news is that Microsoft will still support
FP 2003, at least for now. And you'll now have two different new Microsoft web
design programs to choose from. SharePoint Designer 2007 is included with the
Office 2007 public beta and as the name implies, it's specifically made for
creating web sites that run on SharePoint services.
For non-SharePoint sites, Expression Web Designer is part of the Expression
family that also includes Express Graphic Designer and Expression Interactive
Designer. Microsoft has released a Community Technology Preview that you can
download and try out for free here:
Testing For Screen Size
Now that I have moved to a wide screen laptop, I needed a way
to test the applications that we write fit a standard screen (1024 x 768)
So I have setup a blue fixed form in the workbench. All you have to do is
position Access on the top.
