Select allows you to browse to another Access database file to see who is logged in and perform the other administrative tasks. Database types supported include MDB, MDE, MDW and LDW formats.

When you click on the select button you are presented with a windows file browser as shown in Figure 2 below.  Initially you will be presented with any Access databases that are in the current directory.  This includes databases in the normal MDB, compiled MDE databases and workgroup files MDW.

Note: You can also select a database using the menu File ~ Select a database

You can also select from LDB files which are Access Locking databases.  If one of these is visible, then you know that someone is using the MDB/MDE database with the same file name.  eg  Northwind.ldb  is the locking database for the Northwind database. Once you have selected the database, click the Open button to return to the main form.

If the database that you have selected is secured by an Access database password, you will be prompted to enter that password.  The software does not store that password anywhere.

Hint:  If you wish to deal with other files in the same folders as your database, choose the menu
